So, tell me all that I can expect to see next season from my Av's two new players, Andrew Raycroft, and Darcy Tucker. I want to know like what kinda of players they are, and their tendencies and stuff.

  1. You will probably be pleased with the results.

First Darcy. He's a cross between Avery and Barnaby. He is a pest but he will fight and he can score when he's healthy. He is the proverbial 110% er. He doesn't back down he gives his all and he will become a fan favourite.

Razer was given a bum deal in Toronto. He was brought in as the Goalie of the future and they gave away the farm for Toskala after a season in which he set a team record for wins. The media and fans got on his case and his confidence was shattered. In Denver he will play well. He's not a Patrick Roy but then he's not Theodore either.his career save percentage of .900 was hurt because of Toronto's poor play in front of him. The only time he got to play was when the team was in the midst of a losing streak. The streak wasn't his fault but because it continued he took the blame.

Colorado Fans will come to enjoy these two excellent additions to your roster.

  2. To add to the first two answerers:

Raycroft really sucked last season. He was signed to be the backup, but I think he's capable of fighting for the #1 spot, that's just me though, I liked him way back when he won the Calder trophy with Boston a couple years ago. Signing Raycroft presents the threat of the Avs once again reverting to the infamous "Goalie Carousel-of-Doom". If that happens, then we are totally screwed.

Darcy Tucker is almost exactly like Sean Avery. Everyone in the NHL really hates him. But, he's a gritty player, he can fight, and he's pretty decent offensively (he had 28 goals and 61 points in 2005-06).

  3. Raycroft likes to let in goals shot at long distances. Now that McCabe isn't on defence and trying to score on his own net, Raycroft's stats should go up.

Tucker is a gritty kind of guy who is good on the powerplay. Watch for him to stand near the goal line on the right side of the net(facing it) looking to one-time a cross ice pass like this http://mapleleafs.nhl.tv/team/launch.htm...

  4. Goalie Raycroft was the rookie of the year a few years ago, but trailed off in Boston and was traded to Toronto. In Toronto he won 37 games two years ago and played great at times, but he fell under criticism because he never seemed to make that unbelieveable, game saving save when it was needed. Of course, the Leaf defence left a lot to be desired these past two years. But Toronto was spoiled for a very long stretch because they had a string of goalies who used to make those saves - Belfour, Joseph and Felix Potvin when he was younger. Last year it looked like Raycroft had lost confidence, and the Leafs managed to acquire Toskala, who turned out to be sensational. Raycroft was the backup for the season, but he is still fairly young and may be able to get his game back.

Tucker is a nasty little bugger who managed to find a scoring touch on the Leafs power play. Everyone hates Tucker except when he plays for their team. He is 33 and had an off year last year. Some say he had a few injuries that he wouldn't talk about, and there were rumours  his play fell off because coach Paul Maurice didn't use him in critical situations like previous coaches. If he is healthy he can kill penalties, play the powerplay and drive the other team crazy.
