Ok I was wondering will I still be elgible for a scholarship for the 08-09 school year even though Im recieving a pell grant?.

& another question was When i first did my fafsa I reported 7 ppl in my household, but one financial aid advisor told me they were only talking about "my immediate familiy" she made me mark off my two nieces even though my dad supports them. so a few days later when i got home and thought about it the school went into my fafsa and changed it back to 5. So when i did the verification forms it was after THEY changed my info but BEFORE i went back on and changed it again. So i went to the fin. aid office and told them but they didn't tell me to do all the forms over again just the ones when i list household ppl, is that all the forms i needed or was i suppose to do all?

& is it true that i can only list the household ppl only if ym dad claimed them on his taxes??? thats what the fin aid advisor told me

Plz answer all 3 questions.... thanx so much

  1. Getting a scholarship will not affect your Pell grant.

Generally, you only list other people in your household size if your parents claim them on their taxes, but there are exceptions....so the person who told you to only list people your father claimed was right in certain circumstances,  but didn't have enough information to know your situation was a little different.  If your father provides over 50% of the support for your neices, even if he doesn't claim them (he should claim them, but that's another question), then they should be listed in your household size.

There is no way for me to know if you have done all the forms necessary.  Each Financial Aid Office runs their process just a little differently, so you will need to check with them directly to be sure.

    Good luck to you!
