  1. Keep a little squirt gun around and squirt her just a little when she starts up.  It's actually really normal with multiple cats...me female always mildly attacks my male and he's left with that look of "What'd I do??"  If it starts getting to the point where she is seriously injuring the other cat, then you have to start thinking about what else to do.  Talk to the vet and consider investing in a feline pheromone distributor.  It's like a glade plug in with kitty pheromones in it that have a calming affect.  It works well for most cats.

  2. I'm sure she's just playing. Cats are nuts. They play rough. If your male cat is 19 years old, he's in his senior years and I'm sure is not as playful. If it really bothers you, just try and help him out or keep them separated. You should also consider buying the young female some more toys or catnip....something to distract her and help release some of the playful energy. Those little laser lights work great or those feather sticks. She obviously is just looking for someone/something to play with.

  3. He MUST have said something snotty to her...

I know I have the same problem in my house.  with my 19,15,7 yr olds.

You are going to have to be the ALFA cat and intercede ... Pick her up and talk to her how embarrased you are for her because of her rude behavior...

Cats are easily embarrased... so go for that angle.

Or just spray her with water...

    good luck >^..^<
