OK I'm trying to create a site for my father. He owns his own business. Where is a good site to create one.

I've had positive experience with 2 different website companies and both are good -- JLCONSULTING.COM and CLICKSTART.COM    I would highly recommend talking to either of these companies as the staff at both were professional and helpful.   Good luck to you.

I agree Godaddy is going to run about 50-70 to get you domain and host package. Buy the cheapest package because if you exceed bandwidth they will just make you opt for the more exp one later.

Your choice is going to be a Linux Server or a Microsoft Server.

If you are going to be using any programming lang besides just HTML consider that for

PHP you will want Linux

ASP.NET you will want Microsoft

If you go with a Microsoft Server. Take a look at these free packages.

Okay, first, you have to get a web site builder like Microsoft Frontpage or Expressions.  I'm sure you could find downloads online and they are very expensive but they are easy to learn and use.  After you've designed the site, you need to search for a host.  There are a ton of hosting sites out there for you to chose from and will help you pick out a domaine name.

"I don't care how much it costs". Dream on matey...sites like Microsoft spend millions on making their website. Are you ready to splash millions on daddy's website? I doubt it, otherwise he wouldn't ask you to build it. He'd ask his Head of IT.

P.S. A respectable company will pay for the website through company funds so it can be tax deductable.
