OK I need an adhesive that will hold onto paper mache I've tried crazy glue , gorrilla glue, liquid nail,

glue gun, and nothing is staying stuck , the Item I am working with was bought in a store so it is not wet ,I'm trying to hold a ribbon on each side of the paper mache mask I really do not want to out any holes in it but if that is my last resort I guess I will. and how would I do that without damaging the mask.help please I need advice from a handy person,

With all those glues coming loose it makes me wonder what the surface of the mask is like.  Is it painted, polyurethane, slippery, rough, smooth, etc.?  I assume you tried plain old white glue.  How about contact cement?  If there is some oily residue then it's going to be tough to get anything to stick.  You could try spot priming it with one of the stain killer primers like Kilz then using one of the glues.

    Can you staple the ribbons to the mask or maybe even stitch them on with needle and thread?
