  1. yes but its best to keep these feelings to yourself because some ppl can misunderstand if you know wht i mean

  2. MLK was right on race, wrong on economics. And the democrats killed him. Why with all of the history of the Republican party freeing slaves, supporting civil rights acts in the 1800's as well as the 1960's do Blacks vote Democrat? Even with thier history of Slavery, Racism, Jim Crow Laws, Wiretapping MLK, and thier continued failure in the black cities that elect them? Only Socialism could have created this mess. I think that MLK would have been a free market thinker had he been arround today to see what socialism has done to blacks. (who once could boast about having some of the strongest traditional families in America)

  3. No. One can't talk enough about freedom. Martin Luther King was a great man!

  4. probably about as many people that are sick and tired of hearing about Elvis being seen at the mall. Tired of hearing about it, turn off the television and radio. MLK stood for something great!!! What do you stand for? besides ignorance!!!.

I did read the question, and if you respected him like you say you do, you would not be tired of hearing about him and his legacy, but instead learning as much about him as possible, since he is only talked about three times a year out of 365 days . I'm sure you only know about him through what little was taught in school. Have you ever voluntarily picked up a  and read a book about him, some how I doubt it. so how much respect do you really have for him.

  5. THAT PRICK?  WOW, Youre an a*****e to talk about a dead man in that way.. Especially considering how much he did in moving America forward.

  6. Just how many worshipable days a year do we have For MLK

  7. He changed this nation. It's not just him its his whole idea. The fact that he didn't let being a black man bring him down. He rose above all of it and did what he knew was right.

He wasn't just fighting for black rights. He was fighting for HUMAN rights.

EDIT: And so what if MLK cheated on his wife? JFK cheated on his wife with plenty of women and we still hear about how wonderful a president he was. Give me a break.

  8. Sad that more attention is paid to him on his death day than his Birthday - or his holiday...

i think we should all read this...he wrote while he was in jail in Birmingham, AL

  9. I'm not.  He was a great man, there was a lot of new information that people talked about today that shed light on a lot of what was happening at that time.  People like P.S. and his disrespectful language are precisely the reason why MLK was needed and why we need to continue observe his legacy today.

If you feel that you've seen and heard enough, just change the channel.

  10. Reminds of of the Mao days in China when some big shot was vilified a criminal then a few years later he was praised and elevated to almost worship status.

I remember King.  He was popularly criticized for being Anti war, encouraging blacks to dodge the draft and if in the service then dessert.  He advocated breaking the law if one's concience dictated.     To me his only redeeming quality was that he advocated NON VIOLENT law breaking.  Unlike many of his contemporarys.
