  1. $20 a month?  That would be do-able if they never get sick and require vet care, and I warn you, guinea pigs care are prone to many diseases over their average 5-7 year lifespan.

    Bedding-about $20 a month

    Fresh veggies-around $5 a week

Hay- you can buy a big box of hay that will last months, for about $20

    Pellets- about $5 a month

    Vet bills- ????

Guinea pigs do best in pairs.

you have to but a twenty dollar bag of woodchips like everryweek, and you cant just get one.

they are cute. but theyre pointless. get  a bunny.

    theyre better

  3. Well I have one and she is WONDERFUL!

I will only give you the pros because there are not that many cons...

    well they.....

    -are small

    -DON'T stink

    -require little but some attention

    -have cheap food

-they don't eat much so less food you have to buy

-squeal when want something  EX:attention, food, water

-they don't try to get away when watching/holding them

-slow so if you put them on the ground they probably wont go anywhere/far

-they are not THAT playful so don't require a lot of toys

    -they are clean

-they are a REALLY good pet!

HOPE THIS HELPS BUT I ALSO HOPE U GET A GUINEA PIG!

PS- every month it would probably cost less then $20

  4. well mine normally live in our garden, so eat the grass most of the time. So less grass to cut  :o)

They also eat vegtables that get would other wise get bined from the kitchen.

they don't need taking for walks

they don't bite so safe for children,

well I also had some rats and they also never bit me

I have 2 cages one for when in the garden & one for night time. Most of the cost is the cage to put them in, after that they do need some dry food, saw dust for the floor & bedding
