I think the call to stay out on the track today and "rack up some laps" in Tony Eury's words, was a pathetic mistake that cost the team two spots in the standings!

I've thought that for awhile now. This is the climax of a long series of mistakes on Eury Jr's part. Dale Jr is a great driver, but the fact that he has a mediocre crew chief making bad calls all the time doesn't help him one bit. I hope he sees it now.

I would love to see "Pops" back on top of his pit box again, that would be awesome!

he is ok as a crew chief I do not hate him and do not like him. I just do not care for him. they are cousins and maybe jr feels more comfortable working with him, but there are times when jr is telling him this my way and I  have noticed the past couple of years that when he was not with jr and jr had a different crew chief he did so much better and won a few times. Then when he returned it went back to being the same way again. They are family so it may be tough telling him to get a new crew chief. Jr sometimes needs a crew chief to tell him this way is going to work not that way and not have him walking over his crew chief who is there to help him to the checkered flag. that is just how i feel.

Tony Jr has to pull strategies out of his hat to make up for Dale Jrs minimal talent. You should be thankful Eury is his crew chief becasue that's the only way he will win

People do make mistakes.  I think the relationship between Jr and Tony as crew chief  is too good to let one s***w up hinder it.

I'm a die hard Dale Jr fan, I just do not see Hendrick doing anything I've had sometime to cool off but he made a MAJOR mistake bad pit call today that caused Dale Jr a top 5 finish, I think he needs some re-training at Hendrick, as their crew Chiefs do not s***w up..I think this was a road course and that was the problem, Re-deam yourself next weekend Tony Jr, and call a great race for Dale Jr.

Yeah I think he needs to maybe, try watching the entire race, from beginning to end.  Maybe he would see that he made a very Stupid mistake (again).  I know everyone makes mistakes, but it is getting old.  Can't imagine what he was thinking today, it just seems like that was a Super Dumb mistake to me....  Maybe he'll give an explanation of why, later this wk.  

Dunno if he should stop being Junior's crew chief though.  He's been with Junior a very long time.  I feel like Junior wouldn't be happy about that.  I do fee like he does need maybe Retraining.  I'm just wondering too, if like Hendrick don't talk to him?  Do owners do that kind of thing?  I know it seems like they would/should.  hmm  Wonder if Rick chewed him out?  I'm betting he, and Junior had words during, and after the race.  

Junior has done great this yr, he's been second in pts for months now, so Eury is in fact doing something right.  Hopefully after today, Eury will get Re trained, and nothing will happen like this again.

For crying out loud JM why don't you just admit you want to marry Jr! You never miss and opportunity to make comments on his driving ability to which you obviously have no clue what that means.

Some of us Dale Jr fans are frustrated that his crew cheif has made several bad calls, (like today) and last weekend. Where it may seem that now that he has the right equuiptment all thats killing him are the decisions made from atop the tool box. Driving ability can only get you so far. When the entire field has already pitted and all the commentators are wondering what the h**l the crew chief is doing you have to ask youself where is the wek link? It ain't the driver! I think Tony is a good guy and knows what to do with the old car and the old ways. But this ain't the old car or the old ways. Like Dale's daddy used to say. "Lead follow or get the h**l out of the way" That goes for the man on the box as well. So yea Winter I am a bit annoyed at todays blaintent call by Tony. I wonder how Dale feels right now. I know he likes to win and hates to give them away and hates loosing the point he lost today. When it is something he did he is willing to take the heat but today?

Finally!!  All you people are beginning to understand what Dale Jr.'s real problem is. I have said for the past 3 years that Tony Eury Jr. is the only thing keeping him from winning a Cup championship. I said last year that if Theresa would get rid of Eury Jr., Dale Jr would be able to start winning races, then, maybe things would not have been so ugly last summer.

Just as Dale Jr isn't his father, Tony Jr. isn't his father either. After all, it was Tony Eury Sr. that helped Dale Jr. to 2 Busch series championships, and, if I'm not mistaken, rookie of the year when he was down there. Tony Sr. is still winning in the Nationwide series. What has Tony Jr. done lately? Not a d@#@ thing. If you think for a second that he got Dale Jr. that win in Michigan, you are sadly mistaken. That was pure luck, caused by the crash during the green white checker finish. All you Jr fans can thank Michael Waltrip and whoever it was that was involved in the crash with him for that one.

I have nothing against Dale Jr. I'm just not a fan of his,like I was a fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. since back in 1979.

true junior is doing good with his new team...but kyle busch is doing awesome with his new team and if the chase started today he would be back in 5th place and no chance of passing 4 other guys...as far as his crew chief thing goes, they have been together since he has been in Nascar and you havent really seen alot of consistency from it so yes they should try and part and rebuild that team...it doesnt matter if he goes to Gibbs, if he brings Eury with him then it will be the same results...he is already with a top team so there is no more exscuses.....hopefully they will concentrate on next year now...i hate to say it but this is a three man race...kyle clearly the favorite and jimmie and carl on his heels

Seems like Junebug's doing pretty good this year, couple bad races and Jr. Nation's out for blood.

Note that none of Kyle's fans were sending out the lynch mob when Steve Addington told Kyle he had plenty of fuel at Pocono, and obviously didn't.

Eury is doing a good job with a mediocre driver. It seems like Dale Jr true colors are showing. Last year it was DEI and now its the crew chief. JR. is driving a car that had 30 top tens last year and had a huge points lead.The big difference is it had 24 on the car and the drivers name was Gordon.lol.

Before the last couple races, I would not have agreed with you. After today, I have to wonder if it wouldn't be best.

It was one of the worst calls of the year, by any crew chief. He was losing so much ground staying out, that it didn't even make any sense at all.

Nah.  He made a call like that at Michigan awhile back that gave him a win.  Somtimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  Greg Zippadelli would have been fired a long time ago if you want to judge by decisions like this.
