OK i appied to volunteer at Kaiser Hospital and i got rejected SO..?

The rejection letter said that i should try again next year and that the process of selecting was based on application time(when the forms were submitted), and availability. Should i call them back and offer other hours when i am available to them? or is that not professional? HELPPP!!!!!!!!!

Do your mean Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu Hawaii? There are many other thing you can for volunteer for. You could become a Docent at Waikiki Aquarium or the Honolulu Zoo, Bishop Museum, Hawaii Nature Center.

Well, it wouldn't hurt anything for you to call them and ask if there are other times available, but if not, check to see if you have a Volunteer Center or a United Way.  Contact one of them and they can direct you to organizations that need help from volunteers.

If you don't have either of them, get on www.dogpile.com and enter "volunteer opportunities in (enter your city and/or county name)".  Surely something will come up.  Most organizations list their volunteer opportunities on their websites these days.

Another place to look is www.guidestar.com.  Create your own user name and password (it is free and they don't bug you with spam).  Go to their advanced search and search by a city name.  A list of nonprofits in your area will come up.  

You can click on each of them to get their contact information.  Just start calling the list and you will surely get one who needs help, even if it is just helping in the office or helping at a special event.
