OK i need some help on show jumping and my horse and the school?

ok i have a q&a about show jumping and i was wondering can my qh show jump i know the a qh is a cow horse but i have some details about him that true qh don have

ok he is small hoofed

has super long legs(has alot of tb)

long neck

about 15-16 hands (he is only 2)

and has good balnce

also do i have time to train him in to years to show jump because im wanting to go to linden hall to compete in the riding program

if you have any training books and websites can you list and are there any schools in the surronding states of arkansas

  1. Some quarter horses do jump at open shows and things, just make sure he holds his neck high enough so he can make it over the jumps.

    There is no way to tell if two years will be long enough to train him to show jump, it depends on how fast he progresses. If he's only two, you still have alot of all-around training to go.

    Don't push him too fast, go slowly, because he's still growing and you wouldn't want him to accidentally get hurt.


  2. Yep, he will most definitely be able to show jump, but it is way to early to start jumping training.

    At three years old, you will be able to back him and start some light work. At around 4 years, you can start his serious training. So really at the moment, you have plenty of time not to worry yet.
