  1. i play my own style & thinking of shots...the only thing i think about when i'm gonna shoot a game is to not play on an empty or full stomach....that came from Ewa Lawrence...I don't know if it's a mind thing or what...but I cannot play a decent game if i have an empty or full stomach...it's due to the mind focusing on eating or digesting instead of total focus on the game....and it just throws me off...even though i'm not feeling anything......DreO

  2. mine is Bobby Pickle from Nashville Tenn and Buddy Hall both have a grate stroke and seems nothing bother es them both are real gentleman and always very courteous to there fans I am working hard on trying to develop a stroke like there,s

  3. Nothing off-the-wall here. It's a very good question. Two local players I totally admire and respect taught me a lot simply by observing them.

One: Ed Libby... twice Missouri 8-Ball and 9-Ball State Champion... for his form, smooth stroke and total concentration on every shot. Over a period of time it elevated my game from a '3' level player to a '7'. I pay attention to him whenever he plays. When I go into a slump I think of Ed and snap out of it.

Two: Silent Bob Schneider. Bob never says a word, but if he did you better be standing next to him because what he says is worth listening to. With Mr. Schneider it's not "how" he says it that's important, it's "what" he says. Again, it's worth listening to.

  4. Well Johnny we share one, Buddy Hall. I watched Buddy alot at The Spot Club in Shreveport and got a tremendous amount of help from him at a time when nobody taught anybody anything. Watching Buddy shoot is like watching paint dry...no flambouyant shape getting. Ever seen Buddy get four rail shape? three? two? Well neither has anyone else! He just stays in line like all the time, takes a 8ft straight in after a stop shot instead of trying for a 2ft shot with a lot of cue running around ...I like that.

The next is Ralf Souquet. Should a new player want a model this is the guy. Smooth, focused, and unflapable with a class act to go with it.

    Luck

    Kevin

  5. There is hardly a time I watch any one play that I don't pick up something whether they are pro or not. I hang on to the ole saying that even a blind squirrel will come up with a nut every once in a while so with this in mind I watch all very closely. From this I've devised my own approach which is fairly successful...My main focus is resolving any problem balls right out of the gate even if it requires a failed shot. In most cases I get the second shot and can usually capitalize on it with my problem issue already being resolved.
