  1. Try the area near the Notting Hill and Bayswater Tube stations.  There are several charity shops of various kinds on the main road and in the area.  There are also a few vintage shops.  All have decent prices.  We had great luck there in February!

  2. take the tube to Camden Town. best vintage clothes in the whole of london in camden

  3. Carnaby street is good for vintage stuff..if you don't mind paying out the wazoo. Camden town has some great ones that are REAL vintage, but you just have to find them.

  4. Carnaby Street and it's surrounding area is great for vintage shops with 60's and mod type clothes.

  5. Here's where you can buy Kentucky Moonshine . . . .

Gerry's Spirits Shop London (Soho)Gerry's. 74 Old Compton Street Soho, London W1D 4UN Tel: 020 7734 4215 ... Gerry's is, in my opinion, the best off licence in the whole of the kingdom. ...

. . .not sure if the word 'vintage' is applicable to Kentucky Moonshine - it's usually sold 'guaranteed 3 months old' - Yahoooooo!

  6. There is also a great vintage store in covent garden... come out of the tube and you will see M&S.  Walk down the street the runs down the side of it (Neals Street).  On the right you will see Mango and on the left a Natural Shoe shop.  You will come to a little zebra crossing... do not cross over but take a right and it is along that road.  I forget what it's called!  There are lots of great stores in Covent Garden and there is an Oxfam that has some designer clothes (one of the roads off Seven Dials).

  7. Do you actually mean vintage or second hand charity shops.  You will find Oxfam shops almost everywhere although the one on the Kings Road in Chelsea is the best.  It has all the designer cast-offs from the local socialites but they are still quite expensive - cheaper than new though.

I found quite a good article here which lists some of the vintage shops in London:
