just makes the price appear cheaper. instead of just rounding it off! yes you are right, a gallon priced at $ 4.09 9/10 is really a small fraction 1/10 of a cent cheaper than $ 4.10 a gallon.. silly isn't it? makes it appear cheaper and the 1/10 of a cent adds up in the big picture! dumba$$es!

If a gallon is priced 3.89and 9/10 it is the same as 3.90
