OK then ..............?

I have a 750 European Sat Nav, my daughter asked if she could borrow it to drive from Cheshire to the east coast, when she returned from holiday, I asked her how she got on with it, she said it was OK but she knew a better route.

Is there any point in having a Sat Nav in a car when a woman is driving?

  1. well filya, the days aren't gone for my friend and I, on mondays. we get lost every week. we ocasionally use a sat nav, maps and aa directions, but we still get lost. we have great fun tho.

So, Michael, the answer is NO. Not when there's two of us anyway, we'd be fine on our own.

  2. Michael, can't you just accept that Sat Nav was WRONG and your daughter knew the better route?

Maybe there's a conspiracy between the Sat Nav manufacturers and the fuel companies.

  3. I was always a good navigator in my other half's car. He was too impatient like a lot of men to read clear road signs and often couldn't navigate his way out of a paper bag.

  4. The thing with us women is, we don't just blindly follow orders, we actually think for ourselves.

  5. Nope. Nor a map or driving directions from the AA. they always know best!!!! So they think.

  6. oh god yeah I love my satnav!!

I did have an incident with my last one which ended up being thrown out the window

minor tantrum but I cheered myself up bu buying a new one

My mate does this thing (dunno what it is) but he can download different voices onto the satnav

    I'm getting Sean Connery next!

  7. Gone are the days of adventure when getting lost was an exciting part of driving around, finding places you never knew all for technology designed to speed up your journey....Why does the world have to live at a thousand miles an hour?.

  8. Michael do you see a point in women driving at all? Isn't the reason the sat navs speak in female voices because we're better at map reading than you lot? ;)

EDIT: Are you saying men can't listen? Wow an honest AND intelligent male!! :)

  9. Actually,  while the Sat Nav will give reliable directions,  sometimes local drivers will know a more efficient route.

  10. she may just be brilliant ...... like her father

as for SAT NAV my husband swears by it and i like it because i don't have to navigate

    edit

my husband has a female directing him (unsure what the accent is) but he has a cultured English female voice directing him at all other times ......lol

  11. My SatNav is set to an male Irish accent.

I dont listen to the directions, just his voice, hes lovely and he never shouts at me when I take the wrong turning:)

  12. yes.  you can have more meaningful conversations with a sat nav

  13. No, Michael there isn't. After all we always know best. That's why they use female voices for the spoken directions, the men just do as they're told!
