Question:

OKC and the new basketball team

I live in the heart of downtown OKC. I believe that we have deserved a pro franchise for awhile. So since I will obviously be biased, can anyone not from Seattle or OKC tell me what the big deal is with OKC having a NBA franchise.

Remeber when New Orleans had the Hornets before Katrina they were very poor at keeping attendance. We took the team in so they could still play ball and got their attendance up to #7. It would've been higher if they hadn't played 3 games in New Orleans that year.

Seattle had poor attendance and were offered the chance to keep the team if a new arena and better facilities were built. They did not comply.

So please give me a good reason how OKC or Clay Bennett did something wrong. I will be open to any answer.

  1. The NBA is basing fan support on season ticket sales.Season tickets start off at $1,500 at the United Center not to mention you would have to be able to make it to fortyone games a year. Now in the magical world of homos like Clay Bennett every basketball fan can shell out $1,500 at least and have no responsibilities that would prevent them from attending fortyone games a year. Now in reality people have jobs and can't come home at midnight or one a.m. three or four nights a week. There are also people that can't afford to pay for season tickets but they still watch every single game their team plays. But that doesn't count as fan support of course.Real fans buy luxury boxes and buy team memorabilia at auctions.

Clay Bennett alone didn't do anything wrong and I really don't think he's a bad person. The NBA just doesn't care about its fans that aren't willing to spend money.Their whole idea about what a fan is is wrong and its excluding alot of people.I'll go to probably ten games this year and sit around with a bunch of a******s that don't know **** about basketball but they pay the price of admission.

  2. I was impress with the number of fans that came to watch the Hornets played in OKC.  They were not only big in numbers, but very supportive, as well.  OKC was a better home court advantage for the Hornets than NO.  I definitely support the idea of an NBA team in OKC, very passionate fans.

  3. Only reason is because Seattle generally had a huge sports maniac climate. As the Sonics got worse, attendance was worse. OKC is gonna have the Supersonics, and I am cool with that cuz they will have some fans and stuff in the beggining, but lemme tell you this, unless they get better the fanbase will decline.

For ex. Washington Nationals of Baseball.

Because of the new stadium, it was sold out on the first day. because of their suckiness (lemme tell you they are really sucky to continiuosly lose to the Giants) their fanbase declined automatically.

Durant may help take this team out of this stage, but who knows.

If you guys are gonna be loyal fans then I am very happy for this Sonics organization and you OKC people.

I hope you guys do well and I wish you all the best.
