OL Austin Pasztor signs for Jacksonville Jaguars to replace waived WR Kevin Elliott – NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars have introduced a couple of changes to their offensive line, bringing in a replacement for rookie wide receiver Kevin Elliott who has been waived off with an immediate effect.
Irrespective of a question whether these changes will impact performance of the team or change their position on the points table given only three games are left to play for the Jags and only two wins on the board, the removal of Elliott is significant to
the number of mistakes that the player has been committing lately.
Overall, the receiver has performed below than expectations but his dropped passes in the past few games, particularly against the New York Jets, are not taken by the team that lightly. His waiver looked imminent after he was seen completely shaky versus
the Jets, which the Jags at one point had chance to win. They went on to lose it with a close margin.
The receiver was also allowed to start a game for the Jags. His placement on the special teams position however benefited the team more than at any other place, and given the amount of flexibility he had shown it was predicted he might earn a long-term stay
in Jacksonville, but that did not happen.
With Elliott gone, the team has activated offensive lineman Austin Pasztor from their practice squad but did not disclose terms of his contract. He has joined the team to fill Elliott’s roster place.
Pasztor is a Canadian Football League draft and has spent about 12 weeks on the Jaguars’ practice squad. He now has a clear opportunity to display his talent and skills in a game.
As far as the season is concerned it is almost over for the Jags. So, the rare changes here and there in the squad are not going to affect their position in the league as such. With three more games to go and only two victories on the table, they have no
chance whatsoever to progress through to phases beyond the regular season. They nevertheless can improve their performance record with a pair of wins at least.
