This is a follow up to my first question, now I have more info and I'm sorry if it's confusing.I am moving and replacing an old sink in order to install a washer. The old drain needs to be taken apart or cut to run in the opposite direction,I need to hook up to the new sink and also add some kind of drain for the washer. It's not copper and looks like solder on the joints might be lead, the extension I need to remove ends at an elbow in the wall which I have exposed. So do the 2 copper water feeds that also need to be moved to the new sink on the opposite side of the wall.Basically moving the sink from one side of the wall to the other and putting the washer where the sink was.To sum it all up.Move and replace an old sink, move the drain and water feeds in opposite direction for new sink and add a washer drain to the existing sink drain pipe.

  1. Get a plumber to do this. There are things available to plumbers that you can't get. Also the drain size, trap, vent, number of fittings all need to be figured into this.

You could well be building your own nightmare.

  2. if you are putting in a clothes washer, and moving the sink to opposite side of room, you need to hire a plumber to put it in correctly. there is more to plumbing than water lines. Also the drains need to be a certain size for it to work correctly, not to mention the drain vent. If you own this home ( i'm assuming) and are selling it, you can add cost of renovation to selling price
