OLTL Why The Hate On Todd?

Question

In magazines and on boards, Todd seems to get the brunt of everything.

So I ask: why the Todd hate?

Todd has done horrible things. But I see Todd as a guy who does things for a reason he believes is right. He's not afraid to go after what he wants and he will do anything to do so. He's determined.

I do think the situation with Marty is a bit much - it's sick watching their scenes knowing that he raped her and is leaving that part out. However, this is typical Todd. Is it really shocking that he would do something like this?

I always love Todd or love to hate him. I don't condone his actions, but I do try to see his reasoning/thinking behind what he does. Not to mention Trevor St. John plays him brilliantly.

If fans of the show hate him with so much passion - at least Trevor/Todd is making an impact. Todd is one of the reasons I watch OLTL. It's always interesting to see what he does next.

Because Todd is a lot of the time, irredeemable! I love to hate him too! He is a classic villain but he also has that good side to him, sometimes it just happens to be absent most of the time!

Todd is so evil he should be in a cage.  I'd love to see him plunge to his death like Nash did.

Todd is one of my favorites. Even though I hate the decisions Todd makes he does have his reasons.

Todd is a monster.  Plain and simple.  He raped Marty "for a reason"?  

He threw Starr down the stairs "for a reason"?  

He beat up Cole  - why again?

He's keeping Marty from her son and lying about everything????

Like I say, he's a monster and doesn't have a decent bone in his body.

Well all you need to know is that a ton of fans hate him, and a ton of fans love him.  I love having one "bad guy" on all the soaps.

I think Todd is a great character who often gets himself into morally murky situations.  He's very complicated, which is rare for the soap opera genre, and I think that turns some fans off.  I love Todd and think that there would be a huge void in Llanview without him.

The Marty storyline is really, really creepy, so I can see why there is some outrage over Todd.

todd is the bad guy in one life to live that women would really love about him and what makes him people love to hate about him. he definitely one of the sexiest bad guy on soaps.

thank you i was wondering the same thing, everyone thought the worst the worst that he was going to lose it when he found out about star, but he took it in and wants his grandchild i mean that is love to be the only one to want this baby in there family,  no matter what he loves his family and you can't knock him for that right and he wants to be there for them.
