Okay my friend let me borrow her bathing suit over the summer. Let me explain this bathing suit. See, she was looking through one of those celebrity magazines and saw Jessica Alba wearing a very cute bathing suit so she decided to look high and low for it. Well, she found it and bought it - paid $150.00 for it. We are best friends so she let me use it for a Miami trip and hasn't asked for it back yet. Well I also used it at the pool with my daughter and family. I hung my daughters bathing suit up in the shower along with mine to dry. When I went to get it a few days later my daughters pink bathing suit bled into the one I borrowed (yellow). I tried washing it and everything but it has a few stains of light pink on both pieces. Please, how do I get these out? What can I do? I feel so badly that this happened when she trusted me with her expensive bathing suit. Is there any 'magic' trick to get things like this out to where I won't ruin it any further?

Thanks a million *

  1. wow that stinks. can't help you!

  2. I think the pink is a type of mold that grows when you leave clothing out to dry.

Try soaking in a weak bleach solution.  Like a few tablespoons in a gallon of water for an hour.  After an hour if the stains are still there, try a little more bleach.

    good luck

  3. OXY CLEAN WILL DO HTE JOB I AGREE!

  4. Buy your friend a new one - or give her the $150.

  5. really use some good stain remover. or bleach it

  6. I have a really good idea! You could contact where she got it from and tell them you wore it twice and then it went funny in the water. They might offer you an exchange!

  7. First of all, you should never wear someone else's swimsuit because it is unsanitary.

The only thing you can do is give her the $150 or buy her the same one.

    Next.

  8. Well I don't know of any magic  cleaners that would take that out but I think your best bet would to just buy her a new one. SRRY

  9. sometimes when i have something like that, handwashing works better than a drycleaner, just get some really strong soap and hand wash it for 15 mins i got sharpie out with that :)

  10. Try the spray n wash with resolve power, if that doesn't work try borax, one of those two always works for all my daughter's stains and even when my husband did jeans with whites.  Good Luck!  Also if you can match the color yellow you could try redying it.  At this point what could it hurt?

  11. Try to use salt over the wet stains, it absorbs the color or vinegar I've heard too but haven't tried. Anyways, buy her flowers, present your excuses it's just a bathing suit and you are friends right?Good luck!

  12. Right.. 4 options...

    1

Take it into a department store, and explain your problem to the assistant. They will find you a dye that is close to the colour, and would work on that material.

    2

Buy your friend the same bikini, or one really really similar, for the same price. Make sure you DON'T offer her the money, because if she is a nice person, she would probably turn it down.. and that would not be fair on her...

    3

    Dry Cleaners!

    4

    Stain Removal products.

Also, why were you wearing her bikini? It's a bit S****y if you ask me... not to mention unsanitary!!

    Sorry, bit it's the truth!!

    Hope I helped anyway x

  13. its not going to come out.  The combination of the chlorine water and running colors of the other are not going to come out.  Even if it does, it will only be a bit and there will be faint color of the pink.

Just go and buy a new one, probably be cheaper and easier in the long run..../

  14. Hi there is a powder you can buy that will help with colour run disasters.     probably called colour run...  its available in most supermarkets.. hope that helps a bit.

My dad used to say "never a borrower or lender be",  wise words.

  15. I'm afraid the damage sounds permanent - you'll just have to be honest and cough up.

  16. I don't think there is a way... I had similar problem.

You can offer to pay for it and explain what happened. I mean she is your friend so I'm sure she will understand and know that was an accident. I think its better if you tell her and find a solution together.

    Good Luck.

  17. buy her a new one

  18. wow, try that oxi clean stuff, or i would say buy her a new one, i know its expensive, but it is your friend

  19. Try taking it to the dry cleaners and explain your situation. I would also tell your friend what happened. If she's a good friend, she will forgive you but may not let you borrow anything ever again.
