So I went on a stupid *** site to watch a video. Now normally I don't trust things when they say they need something to be installed to watch the video, but for some stupid *** reason this time I did. Now the installed program says I have virus and stupid stuff but in reality, it is the virus. I can't uninstall it. I was able to exit out of the program but there telling me I have a "security problem" disguising itself as the red x shield that windows uses to tell you stuff. I don't know what it is so I can't exit out of it. I tried deleting the folder the program was in in the Programs folder, but it wont let me. *crying* Oh god what do I do!? I'm running Spybot right now, but please tell me if there's any other solution!

    The Shield Deluxe anti-virus:

  2. start with opening your control panel to do this click start/control panel then select add or remove programs and remove the program then go get a free online virus scan go to TrendMicro.com...or Microsoft's Safety.Live.com orSymamtec.com they are all free next get some protection Comodo.com offer's a complete security suite free yes they can be trusted one more trick is to get a external firewall it connect's to your computer by a usb or firewire connection

  3. More specifically, this is a spyware you've downloaded. Spyware may infect your computer beyond repair if you try to follow the instructions for more downloads.

There are several easy ways to clean it. I have downloaded these things many a times from torrents. So I can easily help you out.

    Do this:

    1) Go to system restore (in accessories > system tools).

    2) restore your system to most recent restore point. You'll lose any recently installed software (but not your data like docs, pics and songs etc.) which was installed after the restore point date.

    This surely solves above problem.

If your system restore is not configured or not turned on, then you'll need to search for "removing <infection name on pop-ups> spyware" on google. That'll take you to some forums which help on this. They'll have a solution or easy fix.

You'll remove it surely using system restore, if not, then only try the second alternative (coz they sometimes add to your spyware, too, if not from trusted site.)

  4. boot the computer in safe mode then start the anti-viruss program and have it scan the computer to try to get rid of it. then also in safe mode go to the start menu then control panel after that in classic view go to add/ remove programs and try to delete the program  from  that and run the scan for the second time make sure the scan found the rest of it and removed it. Make sure spybot is a fullregisteredd version or it will not delete the virus, and also depends on what type of virus.

  5. System Restore
