do you think i will be okay ?

will my school work be okay ?

will i have to start year 10 again ?

would i be able to get ema while im in year 11 ( if i start year 10 again) cus i will be 16?

will i get my subjects that im doing ? (history, geog, french)

thanxs

  1. This is not the best time for you to be changing schools.  You are more than 1/2 way through your GCSE courses and your mum is not going to be helping you if you have to move schools.  The coursework you have done already should carry through to your next school, but only if they use the same exam board.  If they use a different exam board you might have to do your coursework again with different texts etc.  Also you might not get the same option choices at your new school, they might not have spare capacity in the classes you want to join (or even run the same courses)  You might not have to start year 10 again, but year 11 is going to be a much more difficult year for you.  It would be better if your mum wanted to move, but within commuting distance, so you can still go to the same school.  Good Luck :-)

  2. You shouldn't really move schools between year 10 and 11 as the exam boards can differ between schools, even of they're only a few miles apart.

If the exam boards are different, then the school is likely to have you repeat year 10, as the criteria differs between boards - and coursework requirements to are very different

  3. That's a bit selfish of your mum.

And no, you don't get EMA until you've finished school and stay on for A levels or whatever. And then you only get it if your parents income is below a certain level.
