I would greatly appreciate it if so one can please help me or provide a link where I can find help with this.

I want to create a program in microsoft excel that would do the following

Example:

I type in any number, say 1000, in cell A1

in B1 I Put 10 and It subtracts that from A1 and displays that in C1

C1 = 990

Now my questions is how can I make it function so that every time I put in a value for B1 is subtracts from C1 and is displayed in C1

so If I put in 10 again in cell B1 it will be 980 in C1...and so forth!!!

Thanks in advance~

  1. =a1-b1

    Put all that in C1 so that it will do that and change every time you change a1 or b1.  Is that what you are asking?

  2. TAKE THIS

    office.microsoft.com/excel

  3. So that it's always C1 and now climbing down like C2 and C3, etc., use $C$1 to keep it constant.

  4. Actually pretty easy.

    In field C1 - type: = A1-B1

    That's it.

  5. i would say goole a microsoft office help program i used one i forgot what it was called but it told you how to do that

  6. Select C1. Click on the Auto Sum function at the top (it looks like an 'E').      =Sum() will show in C1. In the parenthesis, type A1-B1 and then press enter.

  7. put   =a1-b1

    then you grab the tab in th bottom right hand corner of the box and drag it down as many cell as you need

  8. you type the series. my roomates comps is so slow I wont get the answer.... but if you dont get it soon i will answer.

  9. Put 1000 in A1, put 10 in B1, then insert the function =A1-B1 in cell C1.

  10. You have to type a formula into cell C1.  This is what you type.

    =A1-B1

    then hit enter, and no matter what number you put into B1, it will subtract it from A1.

  11. type in C1:

    "=A1-B1"

    Select A1, B1 and C1 together and drag the cells down from the bottom right. Hope this helps.

  12. (DIF)=A1-B1

    Try that in C1. I think that's how it works anyway.

    Or get Numbers and type this:

    "Difference of A1 minus B1"
