I have shopped and shopped trying to find a good point-and-shoot camera to carry around with me for when i need it. I've checked out so many and already bought 3!! All of which have been returned, the first - A casio which always took off color fuzzy pictures and broke at every chance it could. the second - a fuji, very bad indoor pictures with lots of digital noise and no way to adjust the ISO. the third - kodak HD 12mp camera, thought it was it, cheap quality, lots of noise, slow as c**p, annoying to operate.

Someone please help me find a camera. One that I can work easily but have advanced features so i can adjust the ISO and other settings. A flash that is adjustable, not one that goes full force in every shot and makes you look like a ghost. Fast shutter speed. $150-$200. Please tell me from experience as well. I don't wanna order another camera based on the specs.

  1. Take The Old School Broad's  (great name!)  advice and get the camera she recommends.   It has a lot of good features, and is a much better camera than the ones you have tried.  Canon is the leader in Point & Shoots.   I have had one for over 2 years and it takes great pictures.   I have never had a bit of trouble with it.

To eliminate that ghost look from the flash, stand back farther and zoom in.  That will put the flash farther back and be softer on the faces.  I think it is impossible to adjust the flash on a p&s.  If standing back, doesn't do it for you, tape a piece of white paper over the flash when you are going to use it.  Or get outside and turn off the flash.  That will give you a softer look, too.   Have fun!

I got this canon and it works great.

It has almost all the features of an SLR camera with a lot of settings.

    Very good for the price.
