  1. I hear that movie is gonna suck.

  2. I haven't seen anything for sure, but I have seen where the movie is supposed to be full of "graphic violence" which generally means rated R.  Seems to fit for me though, as the Watchmen is definitely not meant to be a pg or pg-13 type movie.  Afterall,  Watchmen makes Dark Knight/Batman seem like a boy scout!

*** Added immediately after and before another posting was listed......  Now, if the real Batman from Detective Comics was made into a movie, then I would be happy, cause that would by far be a rated R movie.  Let's face it.... anyone who saw the original origins of Batman knows that Batman killed the bad guys.  Having said that,  my earlier comment is against all Batman movies so far!***

  3. I'm sure it's true because the graphic novel was for "mature" readers in the first place.

  4. Watchmen rated R is the best news in days !!

  5. Have you read the graphic novel? It's waaaay R-rated - in the first couple chapters alone there's loads of swearing, nudity, graphic violence, an attempted rape, and a suicide. No way they could pull off a PG-13 rating and even have the same plot as the graphic novel.

Why they do that is not everything that looks like a comic is for kids, and not all superheroes are for kids - there are plenty of adult-oriented graphic novels that have been made into movies before, and I don't remember too many people complaining that their kids wanted to see them (ie, Sin City and 300 by Frank Miller, V for Vendetta by Alan Moore who wrote Watchmen).

Why would a kid want to see Watchmen? One would seriously hope that the children have not been reading the graphic novel - they're not childhood icons like superman, batman, spiderman, and x-men (whose movies have incidentally been mostly rated pg-13 lately). It's not even like the kids can buy tickets to see it without their parents bringing them, and any parent should know that the MPAA doesn't tack R ratings onto stuff for the fun of it.

  6. Idk if it is Rated R but its Gonna be Great being Rated R.

    now i wanna see it.

  7. I don't know what it's rating's going to be, but anyone who's read the source graphic novel knows this one ain't exactly for the kiddies.

Just because a film is based on a comic book doesn't mean it is always going to receive a lower rating.  There have always been comics which cater to a more adult crowd, and the Watchmen series was one of them.  The violence, sexual situations, psychological aspects, themes -- Watchmen was written for adults, not kids looking for stuff gettin' blowed up real good or bad guys beaten up and dropped off at the nearest jail.

Personally, I HOPE Watchmen is Rated R -- that means they didn't skimp out on the stuff which made the series great.

  8. It is probably FALSE! It could be R (probably) though, I'm not sure!
