  1. No way.

  2. The concern is actually about mercury that is used as a preservative in an exceedingly small number of vaccines.  There isn't any conclusive evidence that mercury is directly linked to autism or how much of a danger that the tiny amounts present in a vaccination pose to children but for some people the fear of technology is greater than their fear of known diseases.

  3. Although I am not a parent myself, I am also tired of hearing people say that "Vaccines caused my child's autism".  In my opinion, NOT vaccinating children against diseases is much MORE dangerous than vaccinating them.

I think ALL children should be required to be vaccinated before starting school--NO EXCEPTIONS. (While I support freedom of religion, I think that not getting kids vaccinated "for religious reasons" is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.  People would rather have their kids get (potentially extremely) sick, and expose other children to illness,  than have them  vaccinated.  That just doesn't make any sense to me.)

    Good question, BTW.

  4. they might make you g*y one of my good friend said he felt different after his high school shots and after that i have never seen him with a girl

  5. Okay, so bring on the multitude of thumbs down for my answer---but I have to say that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

What in the world makes you think "g*y" is a medical condition? And it has nothing to do with how the world works. g*y is not related to autism.

AND there is actual study data linking vaccines to autism. Your question was biased against either g**s or parents who struggle or both, I'm not sure which; at any rate, you sound like the teenybopper. But on the plus side, you did earn some more "top contributor" points. Way to go.

  6. Spoken like a non-parent.  Try sitting up all night, night after night with a screaming autistic headbanger and see if you feel the same way in 6 months.

The fear that vaccines may cause a disorder such as autism isn't so far fetched.  The effects of mercury on the brain have been understood for a long time. Overt mercury exposure (such as with industrial exposure) has been known to affect motor function, causing shakes, slurring of speech and physical impairment. Other effects – often known as "Mad as a Hatter Syndrome" – refer to dementia, depression and loss of memory.  And autism symptoms tend to present at the same age that children are receiving another round of vaccinations.  It's not at all surprising.  After all, parents want an explanation.  Add to this that there were vaccines that did indeed contain small amounts of thimerasol, a mercury compound, added as a preservative.  While there's no evidence that the thimerasol in vaccines has caused neurotoxicity (a can of tuna contains almost as much as a vaccine), pharmaceutical companies made the wise decision to omit thimerasol.

Besides, we still don't know what causes autism but we know a few things that don't.  I'm a parent myself with an austistic child.  Vaccines didn't cause this.  I just deal with it.  As far as your position of being sick of people blaming vaccines for their children's problems, you don't demonstrate very much empathy or understanding.  A parent's guilt is horrific.  It can make it easier to cope if some outside source can be blamed.  I spent years blaming myself, wondering if it was something I ate or inadvertently breathed in while I was pregnant.  Maybe I shouldn't have gone to the gym the whole time.

Finding an outside source to blame doesn't mean that parents don't shoulder the responsibility for their children and the needs of their children.  But why should they take "blame" for something they most likely had nothing to do with and no control over???  If and until we do know what causes autism, it's fine if parents have a need to search for a reason.  That may be all that keeps some folks (and some marriages) in one piece.

  7. ya so thats really mean, and a jerk if u call any one g*y for having a medical condition like that and ya there has been bad out comes from getting the small pocks vaccine

  8. Vaccines don't make you g*y or autistic... there is also NOTHING in common with g*y and autism but they can seriously harm a person. They're not the healthiest thing because they actually inject dead cells of the disease into you and you may have problems later on in life but it can't make you autistic because people are born with autism and it can't make you g*y.. because thats a persons choice in life. Vaccines don't effect your sexuality.

  9. if you want a serious answer, ask a serious question. does it make you g*y... are you just doing this to see how many people will respond?

  10. ummm..... retarted much?
