Alright, my sister babysits a 8 year old and a 10 year old (Alysa and Joseph) Alysa is the 8 year old. well i have to wait until Spetember 15th for them to be gone. the problem is Alysa ( makes me cry to say her name) copies me and also everytime Icee (my 5 month old kitten) tries to sleep she goes over and picks him up and holds him. he struggles to get free so she holds on tighter. she is on the other cushion of the couch i'm on as i type so i am turned so she wont see. also Joseph does things he shouldn't to the cat (shaking it, squeezing it etc.)

How can i help my kitten before they leave (there are still like 2 or 3 weeks left!)

Help!

  1. Have you tried to explain to the kids the right way to play with kittens? Give it a try. Maybe she will listen.

  2. PARENTS!!!!!

  3. A spanking might help!

I would MAKE SURE the kitten is out of their reach... in another room.

TELL THEM THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HOLD / TOUCH THE KITTEN unless you are there to supervise.

Tell the boy he is not allowed even to touch the kitten because he is mean to it!

YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE CHARGE AND STOP THIS ACTION... DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH OR HOLD IT WITHOUT YOU THERE.

You are also going to have to TEACH the kids this is not propper behavior for a way to handle the kitten.

You can sit and TEACH THEM THE PROPER WAY.

Your sister also should TEACH THEM it is not nice to be mean to a baby kitten

Teach them that a kitten NEEDS TO SLEEP...

TAKE CHARGE... BE MEAN IF YOU HAVE TO BUT TAKE CHARGE FOR THE KITTENS SAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Okay my moms a vet in California and u know what u should just tell those kids off!!! out old teacup chiuaua broke her leg cuz some kid dropped her and ur kitten could really get hurt so u should tell them to let the kittem come to them instead of just waltsing over ther and pickin her up!!! hope dis helps!!!<3

  5. Well, i think you should just sit down with the kids and just talk to them, you know saying how the cat is a living thing, with feelings and stuff. saying how it's wrong to mishandle it and that sort of stuff. and explain some of the consiquences, both the kids and the cat, you know how they could hurt it, and maybe give them something, like i dunno, a sweet everytime their nice to the cat or a stiker system. [gold stars=nice handling red spots=nad handling, or something like that,]

  6. You need to make your parents aware of what your sister is letting those children do while she is watching them.  If you can't get through to your sister or your parents you could try keeping your kitten in your room while they are there.  You will need to make sure it has food, water, a litter box and toys.

I hope every thing turns out ok for you and your kitten!!

  7. Lock the kitten in another room while the kids are there with food, water, lots of toys & a litter box. Or take the kitten to a friend's house or something, and then bring it home after the kids leave. (:

  8. tell them "if u touch the kitten while its sleeping/get ruff with it(or w/e) u have to have a time out(seriously) if they dont lisen then get ur sis to do it

  9. Keep your kitten confined in your bedroom with plenty of toys, food/water, and a litter box.

It's unsafe for your kitten to be mishandled by these children (who are old enough to know better, and need to be disciplined, obviously).

  10. Your kitten, your rules!  Protect that baby first and foremost!  Lay down new rules for those brats immediately.  Get your sister involved, she is the one who is supposed to be responsible for them.  If they mistreat the kitten after you tell them to stop, Then remove the kitten from the room.  No discussion.

Show them the proper way to hold and pet the kitten.  If they still won’t behave, remove the kitten from the room.  If they put up a fuss, so what?  Think of how you will feel if you say nothing to them and the kitten gets seriously injured or even killed.

When I was in high school, my friend’s little sister (five years old) would not leave their kitten alone.  She insisted on carrying it around by the neck, and squeezed it, and tortured it constantly.  Every time we tried to step in and take the kitten away from her, she’d cry and her parents would make us give the kitten BACK to her!  She was also in the habit of shutting the kitten up in things like boxes or drawers.

One day the kitten went missing, they eventually found it dead in a Tupperware bowl with the lid on.  It had suffocated.  When asked what happened, she said she put the kitten in there because she was punishing it for “running away from her.”.   And she had a fit because they would not go out and get another kitten!   If she had been disciplined from the beginning about how to properly treat pets, it would not have had to end that way.

  11. These two children are old enough to respect an animal. Stress the word gentle and sit down and have a nice talk on how one is to treat another living creature. Do not let them get away with bad behavior with your pet. Final.

  12. when the kids come over put your kitten in a room that they are not allowed to go in and say "Stay away from this room" but put food and water and litter box in the room.

  13. I would keep the kitten away from them and keep it in another room that is off limits to the kids. Also talk to the kids and let them know that this behavior is not acceptable. Show them the correct way to hold and pet the kitten, and if they continue treating the kitten inappropriately, tell them they can't hold the kitten or play with it until they learn to treat the kitten right.

  14. say to them

DONT DO THAT TO MY CAT !!!

I'm being serious make sure they get a fright

and make sure you keep the cat away from them

    problem solved
