OMG my friend has diabetes..and maybe bulimia! plz help...=[?

ok my friend just called me and told me that her friend[ my friend too] diana was at the hospital and has diabetes. um im not really good friends with her, but my friend is, so she told her and she told me b/c me and her are really good friends. ok, so dianas like bff have been really worried about her because they think shes bulimic, because school started a couple weeks ago, and she came back really skinny and boney! so they told her- diana ur way to skinny! u need to eat more, so at lunch she always eats everything and tells that shes been eating a lot at home too, but shes still really skinny, and a couple times they said that she smelled like throw up.

so could her having diabetes like have been caused if she has bulimia? or do u think she bulimic? and could u give me some good website about this kind of stuff. because im really worried u guys.

im now quiet sure put when u put it lyke that it does sound lyke ppl cud get diabetes frum being balemic... or anerexic... thats kinda scary to think about

I doubt your friend is bulemic.

Chances are she had diabetes for a while and THAT is what has caused her to lose the weight - its a BIG symptom of diabetes!!

Alo if she had been eating a lot she may have been throwing up.  Uncontrolled diabetes screws with your digestive system.

Bulemia does NOT cause diabetes.

diabetis can be very scary and so can being bulimic but the best thing as a freind you can do is be there for her .. I have a 10 year old and we found out 6 months ago he has diabetis and it is very hard to explain to him he cant have the treats at school anymore but rather i have to bring in sugar free for him .. the diabetis probably runs in her family as far as the bulemia if she doesnt eat it can be very serious because if her sugar drops she can faint and even slip into a coma ... she needs a lot of support right now ans you sound as if you are a good freind .. good luck

Ehh.... most of the time things like this are genetic. And with diabetes you can gain and or lose weight with it...  She can get sick while being diabetic... My mom is type 2... she has many days where she is puking, very sick....  Its gonna take her some time to get use to a completely different lifestyle... i wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet.
