ON 1/31/08 I became a widow and haven't been able to pay my rent for 4 mos. can I get help anywhere?

We were married 6 wks. short of 25 years and yet I'm getting the run-around from his insurance co. and S.S.. Can I get help from ANYWHERE to pay my rent until these things get settled. My landlady is super nice and I want to pay her what I owe her, and then try to get a less expensive place to rent.

  1. Depending on where you live, you can sometimes get a loan from Social Services. Give that a try.


  2. Go to your local Dept.of Human Services, there are some programs that can help you pay rent, and they would also be able to tell you of other resources as well.
