ONKYO HT-SP904 Home Theater System It gets hot?

Question

I just got this system and it has great ratings. It sounds awsome. But I have owned many recievers and most of them had a cooling fan in them. I notice with this one it doesnt. I can feel the heat coming off of it from a foot away. It just doesnt seem right. Is this normal for onkyo. should I be worried?

Try to keep it in an open area (not in a cabinet) and do not stack it with other components (i.e. use a separate shelf).  This will help heat escape from the unit.  Onkyo does run hot so don't worry, but you should still give it room to breath to keep it from overheating and/or causing damage overtime.

there may be nothing wrong with it - Onkyo has been known to run very very hot -   but that would worry me - i would give them a call and find out if your unit is running normal or if something may be wrong - i bet theres nothing wrong and thats how it will run -   keep it very well ventilated -

I wouldn't worry , but I WOULD put a fan on it to extend the life of the unit.....
