O’Neill considering Synchronised, Sunnyhillboy and Arbor Supreme for the John Smith's Grand National
Trainers and jockeys, both are excited about the John Smith's Grand National to be held at Aintree. Champion trainer, Jonjo O’Neill is likely to ride Sunnyhillboy, in this event.
The John P. McManus owned horse bagged a victory in the Cheltenham Festival, a source of enormous pride for his connections.
The son of Old Vic, out of mare Sizzle, triumphed in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase (Amateur Riders) at Cheltenham, on 15th March, 2012, where he raced as a favourite with odds of 13 to 2
Mounted by jockey, A. J. Berry, the nine-year-old gelding exhibited his potential on the track. He tracked the leaders, made progress and soon led.
He landed a clear victory as he left runner-up, Becauseicouldntsee, 4 ½ lengths behind.
Jonjo O’Neill told the press that the horse is in good shape and his form is not a cause for concern.
O’Neill also has a option of running the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, Synchronised, in the national race.
The son of Sadler’s Wells, out of mare Mayasta, delivered an exquisite performance in the Grade 1 Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase on 16th March, 2012.
Gordon Elliott is considering running Chicago Grey, in the national race.
He told the press:
"If he gets into a nice, early rhythm I think he'll run a massive race."
Owned by John Earls, the son of Luso, out of Carrigeen Acer, finished as a runner-up in his most recent race.
He was defeated by an enormous margin of 16 lengths by Rubi Light, in the Grade 2 Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park, on 18thFebruary, 2012, entering with odds of 16 to 1.
O'Neill’s aim is to score a victory in the national race, as he saddled Don't Push It in the Grade 3 John Smith's Grand National Chase at Aintree, on 10th April, 2010.
He is excited about the event and has many runners to choose from.
At this point, it looks like Sunnyhillboy is the first choice, but Synchronised and Arbor Supreme are also being considered for the race.
With his diligence and effort, it looks like one of Jonjo's horses may succeed in the upcoming prestigious event.
