  1. It's not about how many appointments you have, it's about how many sales you are closing.  Until you've made about $25,000 in commission, I'd work out of your home.

  2. what company are you with i work with a company in ga an dwe appoint all over the country. with that said you know the money avalible i could make it worth a few mins of you time to call us and you could start hiring other people and sell life insurance over the phone then you wouldnt have to have the expense of an agency!!email with any questions.

  3. If you are appointed with an insurance company, you already have an "agency". You're an agent, you have an agency appointment.

Unless you have clients who come to you to take care of their insurance or annuity need, you don't need an outside office, nor the expense of such. Just work from your home.

If you should have a lot of clients coming to you for quotes, life or annuity purchases, then you need a visible outside office. If you have an outside office, why not sell other lines as well?

I will say that a visible office helps to create an image, and it may be instrumental in helping you increase your production as well.

Usually, when you have an office, you have to obtain a state permit, and a city permit. You will probably have to pay B&O taxes, and taxes on your business equipment, such as a computer, fax machine, desk, chairs, and other furniture, etc.

There is alot to consider. It can advantageous, and disavantageous to have an office. If you plan to make a lot of commision, go for it.
