OSAP cancellation Question?

For those living in the Ontario in Canada, obviously, when you cancel your OSAP application can you go back and fill another one out. Also how long does the cancellation process take.

p.s the declaration papers and signature have not been sent yet.

  1. You can have a total of 5 OSAP applications on the go at one time.  

    If you have not pressed the "submit" button on the application, of course you can just log on and click on "cancel application".  

    If however you have submitted your application, you must contact OSAP to get it cancelled.  The easiest way is to contact the financial aid office at the school you enrolled at.  They can close the application for you.  

    It may take several days for the application to show on the website as being closed.  Remember this is the busiest time of the year for OSAP and cancelling apps is NOT a high priority.

    You should not have to wait for your current application to be cancelled before starting another one.  If I recall, the system will let you do the application but will indicate that because a current application is in progress, nothing will be done with the second app until the cancellation processes.

    As long as the consent pages have not been sent or a Confirmation of Enrolment issued, the process ought to be simple and painless....


  2. Yes, you could re-apply but only after 6 months.
