OTH discharge and becoming a firefighter

Question

I was given an Other than Honorable Discharge from the U.S. army for dessertion and I am currently attending school to become a firefighter and was wondering if I was able to do so sense it is a government job is it a possibility for this to happen

Good luck with getting a job.  OTH will haunt you for the rest of your life.  If I was you I would try to keep that desertion part on the DL as well.  People will judge you right off the bat for that.

go for it.  although, they may be curious as to what a deserter brings to the department.  you should look into hanging drywall.  you will have better luck.  also, they want people who can spell.  have fun.
