  1. Well I have all the evidence in front of me. I read the quran, some hadeeth and it all just makes sense. everything just seems to naturally fall into place in Islam, I cant imagine not being a Muslim.

  2. Religion is a spiritual path one takes to find peace within ones self. Within some religions this is still the doctrine and it is the path that people follow. In others, religion has become a way of segregating ones self from any societal norm that deviates from their belief. Sometimes becoming militant in the process. This is wrong.

For some people religion is required for their peace of mind, to maintain morality, or social connectivity. It is a shame, however, when the religion itself, outweighs the fundamental principles that it was originally based on.

  3. To prove that a person's religion is more RIGHT than an other religion is arrogant and biased. I believe that the right religion is one that fits YOU and YOUR life. Sure, our parents and society is a major factor in our religious aspect of life, but if you do not feel right with that religion, than do some research. It's like someone is trying to shove a shoe that is two-sizes too small onto your foot. Do some shoe shopping, and after awhile, a person finds the right fit and comfort for their style.

  4. I don't have a religion, but I believe I have something to contribute, as I have attempted over the past decade to understand religions, both from their own perspective and as an outsider.

Here's where most Christians like "Mike Matney" fail miserably.

Christians use quotations from their scripture to prove their scripture is true ("God said he is God",  "God says he always tells the truth", therefore "God must be God"- it gets worse when you mix in the Jesus/Holy Ghost complex).  This is circular reasoning, which requires you to already believe in order to believe.  The whole religion as it exists today is based on brainwashing children, and taking advantage of people's insecurity and need for coddling by a all-benevolent God providing a happy-go-lucky framework of getting away with anything as long as they say they are sorry.  I know that's harsh, but prove me wrong.

Christianity also has a terrible history of mistranslating, misinterpreting and manipulation of texts.  The Mary described in the old testament was not literally a "virgin," but a young woman.  The Catholic church is so arrogant, it claims the right to change what God said whenever it suits them, and also to strip its followers of rights given them by God.  Clearly, I'm not a big fan of those politicians.

Evangelical Christians are hu-ge(!!!) on testimony. Unfortunately, this means they will take any kind of coincidence as evidence that God told them something.  Such as stumbling on a sidewalk, causing them to be delayed crossing a street where an accident happens at the time they would have been crossing.  Sure, it *could* be God, but it's wishful thinking to call that "proof."

The answers you seek, which nobody here has the intelligence or perhaps the honesty to provide you actually exist.

Jews trace their religious faith back to the covenant made by the people of Israel and God at Mount Sinai, where the ten commandants were given.  They explain how there were a large number of people who provided testimony of God's actions and words (which were actually conveyed by Moses, so IMO, not directly God-given).

Muslims today cite many examples they believe the Qur'an has for knowledge (mostly physics) that the human race had not obtained until quite recently.  I'm no Islamic scholar or even a speaker of Arabic, but there's certainly a possibility of convenient misinterpretation.  Arabic is a very flowery language (quite beautiful), but this means it's very ambiguous and non-specific. Note that this is the one book that is not likely to be mistranslated, as there are strict rules about leaving the words of the prophet (Mohamed) intact.

There are lots of places to find these bit of information on-line.  The problem is that unless you really dedicate yourself to it, you're unlikely to come up with enough knowledge to debunk the various claims of religions' truth.  Remember- priests have always used knowledge, and the withholding of it from followers as a political method of control.  The Muslim world has for the longest time been illiterate, as were European Christians during feudal times and even later.  Your best answer may turn out to be the philosopher's "I know I don't know the answer".

  5. I believe in God not religions.   Man created religion NOT God.....

  6. The Religion that stands by accurate bible truths.  I have a long list, but I'll stick with Mattew 24:14!

  7. God told me.

  9. Feelings may or may not reflect the truth. I don't go by feelings for truth. I research it - yes with books. So, this might not be exactly what you are looking for.

This is one reason why I believe that Jesus is the answer. He said he would be killed, and raised from the dead in three days. Then He did it. His tomb is empty and there were many witnesses to this fact. None of the other gods have done anything close to that.

In addition, His coming was prophesied many years before He came. His birth place was foretold (Micah 5:2), how He would die is foretold (Psalms 22), the day of his death was foretold (Dan 9:26) and many other prophesies were fulfilled.

www.Godlovestheworld.com shows how to accept Jesus as your savior if you come to that point.

"More Than A Carpenter" by Josh McDowell explains this idea in great detail and give his sources if you are interested in researching it further.

Another reason I believe it is correct is that it works. I'm a totally changed person because of what God did for me.

  10. WE ARE THE TRUE CREATORS OF OUR ADULT LIVES.  PEOPLE GET SO INVOLVED IN THEIR RELIGION THAT BELIEVING IT IS RIGHT, CAUSES THEM TO FEEL IT IS RIGHT.  WHATEVER IT IS, FOR SOME REASON OR ANOTHER, ONE RESONATES WITH "THEIR,"  RELIGION.  PERHAPS LATER, THEY GROW AND CHANGE,OR THEY ARE SATISFIED WHERE THEY ARE AT, AND BELIEVE IT FOR THIS LIFETIME.

IT IS OK, THOUGH.  I HONOR, NOT BELIEVE EVERYONE'S RELIGION.  IT IS THEIR PATH THEY ARE ENTITLED TO.  HOW WE THINK, BELIEVE, CAN CREATE OUR REALITY.  OUR UNIVERSE OPERATES THIS WAY.  I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN OTHERS BELIEVE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WITH THE TRUTH AND EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG.  SURPRISE, SURPRISE IN THEIR AFTERLIFE.

I THINK THERE IS SOME TRUTH IN ALL RELIGIONS, BUT NO ONE HAS THE WHOLE TRUTH 100% CORRECT.  THESE ARE MY FEELINGS.  LOVE AND LIGHT TO YOU.

  11. No one told me.

And I don't think that there is a "right" religion.

  12. i grew up in hindu religion, in a very religious and spiritual family. i had lived in many cities of india. the cultural difference of north south in one religion made me think abt my religion.than i read bible, quran . but they were like they r offering chocolates to kids .u worship according to that religion u will go heaven otherwise u will go to h**l. all books has that... my daddy strongest attitude..then i read bhagwad gita .. no nonsense talk..a clear scintific approach of how to lead life.  whatever ur question u will find answer in that.

  13. My religion is right for me because it makes me feel good about myself and everyone else. My faith makes me know that I am loved, even in my blackest moments. It is the light at the end of the tunnel. Do I think other religions are wrong? No. Just because they are wrong for me does not make them wrong in the larger sense.

  14. Because life is as close to a religion as I'll take up. It seems so much more worth while than the "afterlife".

  15. I sit in a dark room mumbling.

  16. I know that I feel a lot happier and more fulfilled by following what it says in the bible. I always feel crappy when I consciously violate what the scripture says.

  17. When I am at Mass I truly feel a closer presence of God.

  18. It's about my experience. And BTW - my religion is right for me. Other religions are not wrong. They just aren't right for me. (at least not right now - but I am thinking about studying with some Reformed Jews).
