  1. Check with your doctor to find out if you're injured. He might prescibe pain over-the-counter relievers like Advil or Tylenol to ease the aching a little. You will have to take a time off from your volleyball play, however. You need lots of rest to recuperate. Skipping rest will only aggravate your shoulders.

  2. Put ice on it for a long time to numb the pain and help if it's swollen.

  3. rest ur shoulder maybe 1 week- 3weeks put some ice 2 it

  4. I had a shoulder injury that lasted an entire season- not too fun!  I would ice it everyday and I used icy hot.  I also needed to go to physical therapy where I built up the muscles around my injured tri-cep.

You need to rest your arm and ice it after practice.  If that doesn't work, go to your doctor.  My arm is better now.  I think mostly that it had time to heal and I strengthened it by doing stretches and exercizes.  You may need to take some time off from volleyball.  That was my probelm, I kept playing with an injured shoulder and it just got worse and worse.  Good luck and be smart!

  5. ice it

  6. ice pack , heating pad, muscle rub, hot soak in the tub

  7. get some muscle rub and rub it down real good. or you can just ice it.

  8. since it was yesterday, treat with mild heat and lots of stretching.  I've found that swimming is wonderful for shoulder injuries.

  9. If applying ice doesn't help the soreness, call your doctor for advice. The internet doesn't usually have as much medical training as your doctor.

  10. congrats on the point. But how did you land on your shoulder spiking the ball?

Did you forget to put your feet down 1st?

On a serious note, day 1 requires some rest and let the body heal itself a little.

day 2 you should use the hot cold alternating 10 - 15 minutes each method. If it is feeling better than possibly do some light stretching.

If the pain is still great on day 3, go to the doctor, if it feels like it is getting better, than heat for 15 minutes stretch and do a light work out.

If your not fully healed by day 4 go to the doctor and make sure you didn't do any serious damage.

Good luck and keep up the high jumping!!

5' straight up is almost a world record!!

More than likely you have injured a lot of Tendon, and Cartilage, which. are dense, and require longer healing time, because the blood is flowing through dense matter.

The actual bone has a cover of Periosteum which supplies blood.

Although heat has the capacity to relax a spasm, it also can inflame tissue. Alternating between Hot, and Cold, causes Expansion, Contraction Try 10/10 min.

Light stretch. Do not go past the point of resistance. If you reach it, back off.

Massage Rotator Cuff at the Tendons while the natural cortisone is coming into place to heal. Pay special attention to the Bicep tendons. Make sure they are in their grooves.

If the Rhomboids, or Pectoralis are involved, they certainly will need a rub. Keep in mind, the whole Shoulder girdle is involved. Remember, you can't expect an injured shoulder to perform it's full range of motion just yet.

You are looking at the upper quadrant of the body, a large area.

Four! (Thats a golf term).  Oh, what do they say in Volleyball?  Wild Zaan
