  1. False Conifers are found in the boreal forests. The reason for this is that the growing season is so short the time and energy required to completely releaf each season would be really ineffecient. Also the vascular tubes (carry water) in the hardwoods youve listed are much wider than those of conifers and as such are more prone to freezing which kills the tree. And oak loses it leaves.


  2. False. Most of the trees of the borealforest are conifers or softwoods. The fact that oak trees do not lose their leaves should have given it away
