Oak Park conquers Girl’s 400 yard freestyle relay title in Winnetka: High School State Championships
Oak Park of Fenwick put up a stunning show and won the Girl’s 400 yard freestyle relay final heat at the 2011 High School State Championships, in Winnetka, Illinois. The event was staged from November 18-19 and featured wonderful performances from all athletes.
Oak Park of Fenwick went on to clinch their second gold title in the 400 yard freestyle relay meet by hitting the finishing divider in a winning time of 3 minutes and 25.22 seconds. Oak Park swimming team was comprised of Paulina Kaminski, Haley Wickham,
Maureen Barron and Mimi Schneider.
In the meantime, Winnetka’s team of New Trier took home the silver medal in the respective race by claiming the finishing barrier in a time of 3 minutes and 26.11 seconds. Winnetka swimming squad consisted of Campbell Costley, Morgan Scott, Stephanie Marchuk
and Samantha James.
Additionally, the bronze title was claimed by Wilmette of Loyola Academy in a winning mark of 3 minutes and 28.39 seconds. Wilmette swimming team included Claire Rushin, Madeleine Jardeleza, Evan Swenson and Mallory Remick.
Downers Grove of North earned fourth place honours by thrashing the finishing wall in a time of 3 minutes and 30.02 seconds. Downers Grove team comprised of Gabriele Serniute, Maddy Sims, Hannah Kaufmann and Gabby Sims. Meanwhile, LaGrange of Lyons settled
at fifth place in a time of 3 minutes and 30.86 seconds. LaGrange swimming squad consisted of Louisa Hoffman, Kristine Rosenberger, Jennifer Weigand and Elly Vitek.
Naperville swimming team of Neuqua Valley got sixth position in the respective race by hitting the finishing fence in a time of 3 minutes and 31.69 seconds, while Aurora swimming club of Rosary settled at seventh spot in a time of 3 minutes and 30.97 seconds.
Additionally, the eighth spot went to Mundelein High School in a blot of 3 minutes and 31.05 seconds.
Furthermore, Glenview of Glenbrook South was placed at ninth spot in a mark of 3 minutes and 31.19 seconds, whereas, Hinsdale of Central and Northbrook settled at tenth place in a mark of 3 minutes and 31.53 seconds. Lastly, Lake Forest secured twelfth spot
by claiming the finishing hurdle in a time of 3 minutes and 34.08 seconds.
