  1. To humans - the underground water and filtration capabilities.

To animals - habitat for endangered species.

  2. probably theres something that the moraine does to that place

  3. The Oak Ridges Moraine is one of the most significant landforms in southern Ontario.

    - is the source of 65 river systems [35 in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) alone]

    - headwaters of all of the watersheds in Toronto originate in the moraine

    - has a wide diversity of streams, woodlands, 130 wetlands, kettle lakes, kettle bogs

    - one of the last remaining continuous green corridors in southern Ontario

    - still 30 per cent forested

    - has significant flora and fauna — more than 900 species of plants

    - one of the last refuges for forest birds in all of southern Ontario

    - has many sands and gravel deposits that absorb rain and melting snow — underground water is then stored through layers of sand and gravel (aquifers) — filtered and released as the source of all the rivers
