Oakland Athletics' Yoenis Cespedes upbeat ahead of Opening Day – MLB News
The Oakland Athletics’ outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is feeling upbeat ahead of Opening Day. Cuban defector Cespedes knows that this is his first ever year in the biggest baseball league in the world and in order to perform top class game he must come up with
a strong strategy.
Cespedes has just finished Spring Training with the A’s and now looking aggressive to start the season on a high note.
"Each and every day he gets more confident and more comfortable," A’s manager Bob Melvin said. "I think it has a lot to do with not only how he feels on the field, but off of it."
Cespedes, who recently was selected to play in the centre-field, knows how much the team is relying upon his game. "Yoenis is picking it up quickly," A’s general manager Billy Beane said. "I was talking to him on the field, amazed at how far he's come in
just a couple weeks."
The latest stint in the Spring Training was impressive as many baseball experts are now considering Cespedes a real threat for many top teams. His game looked balanced and rightfully crafted especially for the Athletics.
Though many still believe that Cespedes would have suited more to the Chicago Cubs’ offensive style of play, but those who judge Cespedes’ game on each game’s perspective, still say loudly that Cespedes will be a superstar here in the Athletics roster.
Earlier when Cespedes himself told the media that he was persuaded by the Cubs’ as well, some started to speculate that as Cespedes will be joining the Cubs for sure. However, later everything changed and Cespedes decided to join Oakland based baseball franchise.
While Cespedes has arrived in the A’s franchise, but still thinks that he needs some time to adjust in the team.
To garb full grip on the game, Cespedes currently working enormously hard and trying his best to come up with a new strategy that will carry forward the current thrust level in him. Now only two weeks are remaining when he will be playing his first ever
game in the Major League Baseball.
