Oakland Athletics’ Billy Beane determined to resolve stadium issue personally –MLB Update
The Oakland Athletics general manager, Billy Beane, has hinted at involving himself personally in the issue of the A’s getting a new stadium by getting into it personally and showing the determination needed to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
Beane, who is also being portrayed in the movie “Moneyball” by Brad Pitt, has certainly become widely known not only around his territory of coverage, but also around the nation as well, which brings the spotlight on him and the issues his team is facing
at the moment.
"It's now impacting our baseball planning," Beane said, "so I feel a need to get involved with this."
Ever since the season had come to an end, Beane is reported to have gone all out to resolve the limbo his team is facing at the moment, but by the looks of it, they are not getting anywhere near, anytime soon.
The Oakland Major League Baseball (MLB) team went in the negative in terms of revenue generation last season for the first time in what is reported to be the first time since people could remember the team playing, which is certainly surprising.
With a normal income of $20 million or above annually, the A’s ownership is termed to still be loaded, but not wanting to spend without having their team creating opportunities on its own for itself.
"It's a business," Beane said. "And the business should be able to stand on its own two feet."
Earlier this month, the city of San Jose in California, had issued a press release in which they stated that they had no objection to any sort of land purchasing for the reason of building an A’s stadium on it, which makes other issues seem smaller.
The Oakland Athletics have been waiting for the stadium issue to be resolved ever since the MLB appointed a panel to take action of the situation, which was back in 2009.
There have also been reports about Beane meeting with MLB commissioner, Bud Selig, but have not been confirmed officially by any source involved.
It is still not clear where this issue is headed, but one thing is certain for sure, that is Billy Beane will certainly not go down without a fight.
