Oakland Athletics’ Minor-League pitching instructor Gil Patterson joins New York Yankees

Oakland Athletics success in this recent past Major League Baseball season was overwhelming. They not only achieved a post-season spot but they also outclassed many top teams in the competition.
This was a third year in a row as Athletics proved their valour and performed in different capacities. From the very beginning of 2012 season, they kept their cool and never showed any loop-holes in their game.
Improving with a firm trust to oust all the hurdles, they progressed and showed the world how capable their entire roster was.
In other words, that all success which gave them that kind of self-reliance and self-confidence was the result of their Minor League’s coaching staff including pitching instructor Gil Patterson.
Now reports are coming that Patterson is leaving the club for a new job in the New York Yankees. Patterson is joining the Yankees' as director of pitching.
For many, this was not good a news. The Athletics fans know that their team’s success was a factor for their Minor League pitching instructor’s extraordinary hard work.
“Gil was a great influence on my career, He transitioned me to the bullpen as well as teaching me a cut fastball. He is an asset to any organization,” Andrew Bailey said.
Later Dan Straily commented on Patterson. “He told all of us the first day in Arizona after the draft, ‘I don’t care where you were drafted, I just really want everyone one of you to make it to the big leagues, either here or with one of the 29 other teams,’” said Straily, a 24th-round pick who took those words to heart. “And when he says that, you know it’s not B.S. He really cares.”
Meanwhile, the A’s’ put Scott Emerson, who is Triple-A Sacramento’s pitching coach for the past two seasons, as team’s new roving pitching instructor.
Patterson is a talented individual and proved his valour in the Athletics’ franchise. Now with the Yankees, not only he will get more experience but he will also help the Yankees to sustain with more focus in the next coming seasons.
