Oakland Athletics beaten by Toronto Blue Jays 4-10 – MLB Recap
The Oakland Athletics lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-10 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Thursday, July 26 at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.
Though Blue Jays had already lost the series but this win certainly is a confidence boosting sign for them as it will help them compete against bigger rivals like the Detroit Tigers.
Athletics’ who are playing brilliantly in the second half of the season, once again performed superbly in this latest series against the Blue Jays but somehow lost with bitter humiliation in this particular game.
Oakland gave too many loop-holes to the Blue Jays and never capitalised on their strengths to eventually lose in the end.
On the other hand, the Blue Jays played combined and proved unplayable to the Athletics. They played as one unit and gave a hard thumping to the A’s with a big margin. Toronto dominated the A’s all over the field. It looked as if the Blue Jays had gotten
some renewed energy as they really took it to the A’s in the game.
Their pitchers along with batters played certainly aggressive and kept the A’s under pressure during the entire game.
"Just a good come-from-behind win today, particularly with the way things finished up last night," Toronto manager John Farrell said of his team and their top performers who certainly dominated the entire game and eventually won in the end.
Blue Jays’ starter Aaron Laffey played well and received only four runs on five hits. He pitched 5.2 innings and gave four earned runs along with two homers, but despite being hammered with two homers, he somehow maintained his ERA at 3.22 and won the game
for his team.
Toronto will be very happy with their performance as they managed to get their offence to fire just at the right time. Beating the A’s will definitely build up some much needed confidence in their line-up.
Oakland will be disappointed as they were unable to get anything going against the aggressive Blue Jays. Although the A’s have been playing very competitive baseball since the All-Star break, their performance on the day lacked some serious energy.
