Oakland Athletics crush Cleveland Indians 8-4 – MLB Recap
The Oakland Athletics crushed the Cleveland Indians 8-4 in the third game of their four-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, August 29 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Athletics’ played brilliantly and won in the end. They played as one unit and rattled the Indians with a big margin.
"They have a very good pitching staff, They're tough. We can see why they're playing the way they are playing," Indians' manager Manny Acta said.                          
Athletics’ entire roster played aggressively and did not allow the Indians to dominate them. They kept the Indians under pressure and won in style.
"We did what we needed to win, We didn't close it out in the fashion we usually do, The offense was good to see. Our at-bats got better as the game went along. Travis was little out of sync, but overall did well, Our starters have gotten into a little competition. It is like, 'You set the bar and I want to raise it the next day,'” manager Bob Melvin said.
Oakland’s batters and hitters played wonderfully which did not give any chance to the Indians to bounce back at any stage of play.
Centre fielder Coco Crisp scored one run and smashed two hits on his five at-bats. He struck-out two times but still his slugging percentage remained consistent at .399.
Shortstop Stephen Drew added one run and smashed one hit on his five at-bats. He played aggressive from the start of play and maintained his slugging percentage at .286.
Left fielder Yoenis Cespedes also played well and earned a great victory for his team. He scored two runs on three hits along with one RBI while his slugging percentage remained consistent at .504.
Not only batters but the Athletics’ pitchers also played well and earned a great victory for their team.
Starter Travis Blackley pitched 5.2 innings and allowed three hits and two runs. He received one homer while he struck-out five on his consistent 3.50 ERA.
Relief pitcher Pat Neshek also did well on the mound as he did not allow any run and received only two hits on his 1.08 ERA.
