Oakland Athletics defeat Texas Rangers 4-3- MLB Recap
Oakland Athletics beat the Texas Rangers 4-3 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, October 1 at O.co Coliseum in Oakland.
"We're just a bunch of young guys having fun, You wouldn't think all these rookies would be doing things like this," Coco Crisp said
"Absolutely amazing, We don't get this done unless everybody believes in everybody and everybody plays selflessly. They were all in it for the team," said manager Bob Melvin.
Athletics’ entire roster played offensively and rattled the Rangers with big energy. They played beautifully and did not show any loop-hole.
Their pitchers and hitters played extremely well and defended the four runs with big energy.
Centre fielder Coco Crisp batted four times, scored two runs and smashed two hits along with one RBI. He played offensively and remained consistent on .421 slugging percentage.
Oakland’s pitchers also played aggressively and won the game for their team. They pitched in right areas and outclassed the Rangers with a one run margin.
Jarrod Parker pitched six solid innings and received three runs on six hits. He struck-out six and received two homers on his 3.47 ERA. Parker kept the Rangers’ hitters under pressure and won in the end.
"Sky high, This is a team that knows it can do a lot of things. It's no surprise to me. It might be a surprise to everybody else," Parker said.
Relief pitcher Sean Doolittle pitched one solid inning and did not receive any run or hit. He played offensively and showed great support to his team. Striking-out one, Doolittle’s ERA remained consistent at 3.18.
On the other hand, the Rangers’ pitchers played defensively and received big hammering from the Athletics’ batters.
"They play with no conscious. They're not afraid of nobody right now, I'm never surprised what happens over in that clubhouse with the Oakland A's," said Rangers' manager Ron Washington.
Martin Perez allowed four runs and six hits in four innings spell. He struck-out three but he could not remain consistent on his ERA which rose to 5.45.
