Oakland Athletics infielder, Adam Rosales, recovery from stress fracture almost over
Adam Rosales is a figure immensely missed by the Oakland Athletics. Having the backing of his manager, Bob Geren, he looks to be on the fine road to recovery.
With good spells in rehabilitation, the star looks like he will coming back to the Major League circuit, very soon. The utility infielder has been on a long recovery path from surgery that repaired a stress fracture in his foot.
The player has been running well and it has been three weeks already. The star player took a live batting practice test for the first time and it came against injured closer, Andrew Bailey. The hurler was more than up to the mark, pitching fastballs to Rosales. Luckily, the hitter handled them well.
The star player is scheduled to have a CT scan on his injured right foot on May 18. The last scan was conducted on April 14 and the goal is to figure out how much the injury has decreased. The scan from last month revealed the foot to be 90% complete.
"Hopefully, I'll get the clearance and start playing in some games in Arizona and Stockton or Sacramento", Rosales said.
The star is itching to get back on the field but understands the importance of waiting for a call. The test he is going through points more towards patience.
"They've taken good care of me, and taken all the precautionary steps to get back -- get back to 100 percent and stay at 100 percent", Rosales said.
The player has told the press that he is close to a painless recovery, which is something he wants in the end.
"It's a little stiff, a little sore", he said. "I took a lot of ground balls yesterday, then I came back this morning and ran. I could feel it. It takes a little while to get going. Over time, the next couple weeks I'll be able to come back from a night [game] and play a day game".
The star went .281 with the bat in 2010 and that is what A’s are looking to yield from his return.
