Oakland Athletics keeping options open for outfield – MLB News
Recently reports are coming in the media that the Oakland Athletics’ management is keeping their options open deciding over outfield’s final positions for next season.
The Athletics are currently busy in Arizona playing in 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training. Though their performance is relatively good and showing some great display of skills, but their management, who is more worried over the next season’s results,
is seems slight exited and now diverting the attention towards last minute’s preparations.
They want to fill in the empty outfield which will be a key success factor in the coming event. The management including the coaches and managers have yet to assign players certain positions.
However, as the time passes by and gap between starting date of the next season is closing by, the Athletics are getting anxious on giving the responsibility to all the players who will be doing their best to show a consistent performance next season.
The Athletics general manager Billy Beane has recently said in the media with the same perspective in head as, "That's going to come down to putting the best defenders in the right place. It's not going to revolve around one person. It's the best combination
of guys. It's all three of them."
At the moment, the Athletics have couple of players to take care the in-field. Yoenis Céspedes and Coco Crisp are one of them. Crisp, who also considered one of the best defensive players in the Athletics roster, is a great role player as well. Newly arrived
Yoenis Céspedes, who is also competing for that particular position with Crisp, has said recently about his teammate Crisp and told the media as how wonderful his game actually is.
Céspedes said, "He's got a great arm and, so far, is getting good reads. He's definitely going to make our team better. We're all excited about his potential to help the ballclub."
The Athletics have also plenty of players whom they can trust. But most recently the team management has decided to bring only those players on certain positions who are well established and well balanced. In the meanwhile, the competition ahead will be
a tough one for every Major League team, but those who are best at handling the pressure should be winning the every opportunity with spirit.
