Oakland Athletics lose to Minnesota Twins 2-3 – MLB Recap
The Oakland Athletics lost to Minnesota Twins in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, May 29 at Target Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season and took the series in great style with one game to spare.
Previously the Twins defeated the A’s on Monday with 5-4.
The A’s management with yet another loss is quite worried over the level of output their players are giving. This lost have given them sixth straight shattering which was started on Tuesday, May 22 against the Los Angeles Angels.
Though this particular game was quite a close encounter, but overall the Twins were more aggressive as they ended the game with great win.
Left Fielder Josh Willingham hit a three run homer in the ninth and gave the Twins a memorable win.
"You want to be in that situation whether you get a hit or not, Fortunately, I was able to get a hit tonight. I've been on the other end several times as well." said Willingham, who performed tremendously and earned a great win for his team.
Willingham added giving more details about his performance and also told the media about the joint effort of his teammates. "We weren't able to do a whole lot tonight offensively, We had some chances with some guys on and weren't able to get the big hit.
Anytime you can come from behind and win a game like that, it's great. They're the wins that can kind of springboard you a little bit."
Overall the game was played on high pace as the A’s looked sharper in the field but as the game progressed into the ninth, the Twins’ suddenly pushed its throttle button with full force and took the game away within minutes as the three-run homer in the
bottom ninth proved the winning factor for them.
This particular game has also given the Twins a great chance to improve their current winning percentage as well as their dire win loss record. They are currently at bottom in the American League Central while their win loss record is standing at 17-32 along
with mere .347 winning percentage.
