Oakland Athletics lost to New York Yankees 9-10 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Saturday, September 22 at Yankee Stadium in New York.

Athletics’ pitchers did not play well and received a huge defeat. Starter Travis Blackley pitched two innings and received four runs and four hits along with an RBI. He struck one while his ERA remained at 3.48.
Relief pitcher Jim Miller pitched three innings and received one run and three hits along with one homer.
Athletics’ batters, despite playing well also could not save the game and lost with one-run deficit.
Shortstop Stephen Drew batted eight times and scored three runs on four hits. He also ran for an RBI and maintained his slugging percentage at .394.
Left fielder Seth Smith scored one run and smashed one hit along with an RBI. He batted well and maintained his slugging percentage at .439 on four at-bats.
On the other hand, the Yankees’ entire roster played much better than the Athletics. They played combined and rattled the Athletics with a narrow margin.
Left fielder Ichiro Suzuki did well on his five at-bats as he scored three runs and smashed three hits. He also ran for an RBI and maintained his .394 slugging percentage.
Second baseman Robinson Cano also showed his valour and hammered the Athletics’ pitchers with big hits.
He scored two runs and smashed two hits on his six at-bats and proved one of the winning factors for the Yankees.
