Oakland Athletics pound Texas Rangers with 9-3 hammering – MLB Recap
Oakland Athletics pounded the Texas Rangers 9-3 in the third game of their four-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, September 26 at Rangers Ball Park in Texas.
"To come out there and get these guys was the biggest series of the road trip. These are the guys we are trying to catch, A lot of people want to say we can get the wild card. We're trying to still win this division," Josh Reddick said about his team’s performance.
Oakland showed their great offensive supremacy as they rattled the Rangers with ease.
"We lost a tough one the first night (in Texas). For me, it was even more important to come back and win the next day and follow it up with a good performance today, Certainly it would be nice to win tomorrow, but at this point, these two games I think were big for us," A’s manager Bob Melvin said.
Athletics’ pitchers allowed only three runs to the Rangers and kept them under pressure during the entire game which proved fruitful for them.
Athletics’ batters also showed control on the plate as they hammered the Rangers’ pitchers with great force.
Shortstop Stephen Drew batted five times and scored one run on four hits along with two RBIs on his consistent .405 slugging percentage.
