Oakland Athletics’ send pitcher Jarrod Parker to Triple-A Sacramento – MLB News
The Oakland Athletics’ have sent their talented and one of the best future pitchers Jarrod Parker to Minor League affiliates, Triple- A Sacramento in order prepare him for next seasons. The decision came out with mutual understanding of management who feels Parker will play more aggressive game after spending some quality time in the Minors. Parker’s recent sending to Sacramento also confirms as he will not be going to Japan with the Oakland’s senior team.
"I know he's disappointed about not going to Japan, but that doesn't mean he's not in the running for the fifth-starter, He is going to be part of this team, if not right now, certainly in the future. He's as talented a guy as we have." manager Bob Melvin said.
On Parker’s sending into the Minor League and on his potential return to the senior team, Melvin also commented in the media with huge optimism and self assurance on his game. Melvin said, “He is going to be part of this team. Not right now, but certainly in the future. We feel like he's as talented a guy as we have here. That's what made it so difficult today. I wanted him to know when he got traded over here, he's not being looked at differently now.”
Currently he is playing in Arizona in this year’s Spring Training sessions, but with this late decision of the management, he will soon be leaving for his new Minor League team. Parker, who originally was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2007, came into the Athletics’ franchise in 2011.
Last year, his level of performance however, remains little consistent, but still the A’s management wants him to play more aggressive while that is also the main reason why they seem persistent to send him in the minors. This is also a possibility that Parker might be coming back in the Major League at middle of the season.
Parker is a good player with strong pitching abilities and if he gets better in the Minors, his way forward into the Majors will be lot easier while the management also wants him back as he possesses some extraordinary skills.
